Chortens at the Dochula Pass, Bhutan. The 108 memorial chortens or stupas are known as Druk Wangyal Chortens at the Dochula Pass, Bhutan. Dochula Pass is located at an elevation of 3100 meters on the East-West Road from Thimphu to Punakha. The chortens were built in honor of the Bhutanese soldiers who were killed in the December 2003 battle against the Assamese insurgents from India.
